Your morals are off kilter

Leo was still kind of grumpy, but Myffi thought he was maybe a lot less grumpy these days than he had been right at the start of term, or maybe she was just getting used to his mood so she didn’t notice it anymore. They had hung out together a lot at the start of term - Leo had shown Myffi some Quidditch stuff, even though she had decided not to try out for the team after all (they already had a whole team and a reserve without her, so she didn’t actually need to, anyway), but she was a much more confident flier as a result, so that was definitely a bonus. Also she had been helping Leo with his studies a bit too, which wasn’t overall so much fun as flying, but that didn’t mean it was all boring. Sometimes Myfanwy found things to laugh about and she thought they’d had some quite interesting discussions - but it felt like since midterm their time together had tailed off a bit. But then, he seemed more cheerful, so whatever, if Leo was happy then Myffi was happy.

Except maybe he wasn’t totally happy right this instant as he tripped and fell in the commonroom. Which was totally understandable, considering the amount of stuff everywhere, but not usually a thing that someone would be happy about. Then again, when he got up, he was smiling. “My guess is someone got really sick of their roommate,” Leo supplied. Myffi’s eyebrows raised in contemplative surprise. She didn’t have a roomate at RMI, even though she had been so desperately hoping for one, and she mostly slept in a tent with Cledan over midterm. The sleeping arrangements varied a lot, and over summer Cledan hadn’t wanted Myffi in her tent, which, ew, Myffi didn’t want to sleep near her sister and her (now ex) boyfriend together either, thank you, but she usually ended up sharing with someone. It wasn’t so bad, and even if they snored Myffi could cast a silencing charm … so long as she remembered to lift it. She had totally forgotten one morning but luckily the Muggle had just thought she’d lost her voice and Myffi had to keep quiet until the evening when she was asleep again. That had been a close call.

Ignoring Leo’s comments about Roger’s violin, Myffi said, “This is all Kit’s stuff.” She was relatively certain. The Disney themed clothes, customised Quidditch gear and hairbrush full of red curls all supported her conclusion. “Darlene couldn’t do all this on her own. Could she?” Myfanwy didn’t know the other occupant of Kit’s room, except by name. She was only a little second year, though, and this was a lot of stuff. The sixth year reckoned Kit had more belongings than the whole Californian commune combined. The situation was not being made any better as Leo started rooting through the additions to their commons. “You’re making it worse,” Myffi pointed out to him, though she sounded more amused than affronted. Poor Kit, but it was pretty funny that all her stuff was just everywhere. It probably suited her better this way.

Leo was in a good mood. It shocked even him but if there was something that could perk the spirits of a teenage boy it was a big feed and the knowledge that a cozy bed awaited him. Going home for the ... more
