For modern maps I use Bing;
You can change the Road view to Ordnance Survey, and the OS maps have the farm names on them. There are two levels of OS detail, so zoom in to see the farms. However, I'm not sure if this feature works outside the UK.
Many places in Balquhidder have gone now. The population fell in the late eighteenth century due to the land clearances, migration to the cities, and emigration.
