Additional Information on McGehee's

Good morning,

Thanks for the note. After doing some additional research. I was wrong about Port Arthur that was my Grandma's (Fla Attrice Spell McGehee's) family - the Spells. The McGehee side (Oliver Carruth McGehee - My Grandfather) was born in Amite, County, MS.

I am still gathering documentation (i.e. census records, grave records, wills, etc.) But, I am certain that I have the correct information as far back as Lewis McGehee and am still working back farther for confirming documentation. I don't have all my paperwork with me today (some of the dates may be a little off), but this is a rough sketch of the geneology I have so far working down (Past at the top to Present at the bott). I am currently building a more complete tree attaching documents in ancestory.com. I am considering DNA testing, as well, to trace lines even father back....

P.S. I'll have to find out about the LSU professor, more than likely there is some family connection.
