I'm seeking information on the "Eveready Smoke and Ammonia Helmet" that we have in the Napa Firefighters Museum collection. It is a "Darth Vader" style leather hood with a small filter cartridge on the back of the helmet. Google had only one reference that I could find, a kids search activity from the Hastings Museum in NE. If anyone can share any information on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link. I didn't find anything like that when I did a Google search. Very interesting and you have to love the style of writing from "back in the day". I'm still searching for more... more

I believe I once saw one in a mining museum along with a copy of an instruction sheet. I'll have to ferret through some old photos to see if I have it.

Gary, the instruction sheet would be fantastic, but ANY info you could provide would be appreciated.
