Whilst I agree in essence with what you say, I think when you say Scowen is is the closest we have to Eastmond, I would say we already have one in Lewis. He fits into that category already. In my mind he is the type of player that we need at WWFC long term.

let go, then I'd say Pittman is the lead candidate. He hasn't set the world alight elsewhere either, but he had a game-changing spark about him which we saw at Leeds.
Interesting also that Marlon Pack has been nominated for League Two player of the year at the Football League Awards. Looks like we might have missed the boat there.
