When The (Irish) producer of Panorama reported the 2006 World Cup (in my opinion the greatest event for Anglo-German relations since 1945) as a sinister reflection of English football supporters (you and me).
There was nothing newsworthy except the subtle cultural shift from the man on the street thinking 'we fought a war agianst them why would I go to Germany' to 'actually Germany is a great holiday destination with welcoming football lovers who love the English and a beer'
It was a pre-conceived story from the BBC which only helps to facilitate the dicrimination against football supporters in polite society (and in particular those who 'dare' support the English national side).
