Well, not with a wish to be pedantic, but a COE is a different entity than an academy. To hold academy status a club requires the investment to cover more coaching staff, better facilities, more support staff, increased contact hours with players etc My point is that Wycombe never had the above levels of funding to devote to youth development, consequently they have never been an academy!! A COE is a poor relation (in accordance with the above parameters) in player development terms, and now the club doesn't even have that!! That's the point. I think it's awful that WW are the only club not have a Youth Development System, notwithstanding that, you can only trust the people who made the decision in the best interests of the club's sustainability.
