Your right WWFC never had an Academy, but you obviously have no understanding of youth development. WWFC's COE last season had 11 first year scholars many of chose the COE route because they believed & many COE players believe that the chances of progressing through the system in far greater than at an academy. It's not about the number of staff or facilities, more players are choosing this route & many of the WWFC scholars turned down Academy football. The club has made well over the million pound mark from players over the past 2 years & there are not many Academies that can say that...poor relation maybe, but it was a very good & successful addition to the club. The sale of Jordan Ibe could of secured the future of the COE for years. It's a great loss!!

Well, not with a wish to be pedantic, but a COE is a different entity than an academy. To hold academy status a club requires the investment to cover more coaching staff, better facilities, more... more
In the future due to the rules change forced through by PL clubs the amount we can make through such deals will be capped at £70k (IIRC). Given the costs will continue the COE will never see such... more
