It was patently ludicrous to bolster and pay for better off-field facilities in order to "prepare for the Championship". Would you hire a Rolls-Royce mechanic to service your Mini, on the basis that you were preparing for the acquisition of a Roller - which might never happen? Better to pay for the Roller first, eh? It was unnecessary and seriously bad judgement. He believed his own spin instead of exercising financial prudence. And others went along with it. Now he is paying the price, but far more importatntly, so is the club. Appalling. I don't believe that sort of "investment" will be missed one iota.
The loss of the academy is the start of what is to come. As much as you love or hate Hayes he put alot into wanderers, we will be all begging for him to come back by the end of the season

On the contrary he has led this club to the brink of financial ruin due to his 'ambition' as you put it. Ambition I might add for a stadium and not for either club he owned.
