old could answer. The other atrocities in Africa were not race related, they were tribal, the white farmers in Zimbabwe as with Apartheid in South Africa, were clearly race related. What did YOU and the world do while white farmers in South Africa were being ethnically cleansed from their land? I contend that it was absolutely nothing so we don't actually learn from history at all.

The point is that suffering and racism is not a black and white issue, it can be perpetrated by Humans of any colour.

You, and incidentally, the left-wingers and Socialists, claim that Africa suffered oppression from the colonialist yet you forget that we still have a commonwealth of nations of which many of those you claim were oppressed, voluntarily, remain members of.

Other than the 15th and 16th Centuries explorations, many of those Countries, from Africa to Asia to the Pacific, were as a result of establishment and defence of trade links rather than to conquer,. In fact there's little evidence of oppression that you speak of other than the misery through war, especially that during the Napoleonic era.

Besides all that, if the British Empire is guilty of anything, it is that it allowed brutal regimes in Africa and Asia, to replace the British, French and Dutch administrations when they left, look at them, then you'll understand a little of what oppression is.
