It is less crowded earlier on, you can get a seat and you get the whole slate of beers to choose from.

Then, by the time it is mobbed and some/most of the beers have gone, you have usually had your fill.

You can then leave at a reasonable time to get home, or go down the pub.

If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail. :)

        I would add also that a pre-festival Full-English fry-up beakfast is essential, IMO. Lines the stomach well to take your early beers.
