Ian Nixon R.I.P.
Mon Jun 12, 2017 12:59

Devastating news last week of the sudden death of Wycombe Wanderers Independent Supporters Club Chairman Ian Nixon at the age of 63.

Even more shocking was the circumstances of his death - understood to be related to a canal boating accident.

A statement from WWISC read:

"It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and accidental death of our Chairman Ian Nixon.

He was a lovely person, always willing to help with anything, and a great person to have on the committee and also on the coach, and travelling to football will now not be the same without him.

He was involved with the football club as a ‘Blues Line’ agent, and again he will be missed on his round.

WWISC would like to send our sincere condolences to Ian’s family and close friends.

Ian's funeral will be held at Amersham Crematorium on Friday 23rd June at 1.45pm.

We will all miss him greatly."

I will add, that every time I had the pleasure to meet Ian, he was always smiling. Nothing seemed to phase him and his efforts in helping to arrange the numerous pre-match pubs for WWISC were greatly appreciated.

To his family and close friends, my heart goes out to you.
