Scott Brown staying at Wycombe
Thu Jun 15, 2017 12:39

Following speculation that goalkeeper Scott Brown would return to his former club Cheltenham Town - the deal now appears to be off.

Town Manager Gary Johnson said to the local press in Cheltenham:

“At first everyone was happy with the deal allowing him to come to a club he wanted to go to,” said Johnson.

“We put a deal together and personal terms were agreed.

“But when it actually came to letting Scott leave, Wycombe realised they were letting a good goalkeeper go too early.

“They have apologised to us as we had genuinely been told he would be available.

“They realised they had a very good goalkeeper and no other keepers available so they will keep him.

“We have to respect their decision but it is disappointing from our point of view. These things happen.”
