Tue Aug 1, 2017 13:05

The Club revealed that Anthony Stewart had signed a three year extension to his contract at the Fans Forum held on Monday 31st July 2017 at Adams Park. Stewart had already triggered a one year extension to his current deal during the 2016/17 season but has now agreed a deal running until June 2020.

Now 24 years old, the former Wanderers Youth Teamer is in his second spell with the Club having originally made his first team debut in January 2012. Returning to Wycombe in June 2015 ,following a season sabbatical with Crewe Alexandra, he has now clocked up over 100 appearances for Wanderers.

Gareth Ainsworth commented:

"It's brilliant news that Anthony has signed a new deal at the club.

"He has developed from a youth team player into an integral part of the team, and securing a player of his quality is a real statement of intent by the club and shows that Anthony believes in what we are trying to do here.

"At 24-years-old, Anthony's best years are still ahead of him and no doubt he will have a big part to play in the season ahead.

"He is learning all the time and having someone of Adam El-Abd's experience alongside him will be massive in terms of his development."
