Gareth Ainsworth

"I said it was going to be a scrap and that was the best Newport side we've faced for a number of years. To keep a clean sheet was fantastic, I just feel we edged it though.

"Craig [Mackail-Smith] has scored about 170 goals in his career and he missed one of the easiest chances of the lot.

"But I'd have him every day because of his work-rate and his endeavour and his attitude.

"I'm really pleased with the performance and the fans were great, but I just wish we'd sneaked it which I thought we had done.

"I had a sneaky comment from one of the Newport boys telling me it was a great point for them so that's a huge compliment for us.

"If you can keep clean sheets away and get your home form going, you won't be far away at the end of the season."

"Adam [El-Abd] and Scott [Brown] may have taken some stick lately but they were absolutely immense today. I'll put my name to that performance."

"Ebere [Eze] is unbelievable in training and has to learn both sides of the game, but I was really impressed when he came on."

Michael Flynn (Newport Manager)

"I felt we should have been out of sight in the first half but in the last half an hour we were lucky to get a point.

"It was too open for my liking. We needed to take our chances when we were on top and, thankfully, we didn't get punished like we did last week at Exeter.

"Wycombe are a solid League Two team and our players worked their socks off, you could see how tired they were.

"We created chance after chance, in the first half we put 15 crosses into the box, and we had 10 attempts on goal.

"The negative was we didn't score again and kill them off but again there was some outstanding defending when we needed it.

"I don't know how many crosses went in during the second half, I haven't seen the analysis yet, but it was loads."
