Gareth Ainsworth to SkySportsNews

“If anyone deserved to win today it was us. I think the team that were top of the league will be happy to leave with a point.”

“Scott Brown’s had a quiet day. We had a penalty shout & a disallowed goal, & we’re disappointed not to have won.”

“Exeter went five at the back at the end to shut up shop. We created plenty which is great.”

“It was a shame to lose Saunds & Josh to injury in training before the game. That hurt us.”

“Harri & Tys will be like great new signings in the New Year. Sam’s been different class & isn’t quite 100%. Josh has an ankle injury.”

Press Conference

The supporters have seen the chances we’re creating and we’ve scored so many goals lately, which isn’t a freak thing because we’ve been working hard and playing some good stuff.”

“The fans got right behind us and the Exeter fans gave good support too, so credit to them. I thought it was a good advert for League 2.

“You might’ve taken a point before the game – you don’t want to get beaten – but after the game we felt we’d done enough to win it.

"Exeter were very happy with the point; they put a block up and we created plenty of chances, and on another day we get two or three goals."

“Paul (Tisdale, Exeter City Manager) was very respectful about us afterwards. He’s a very good manager and we’re good friends, so a 0-0 draw against his team isn’t bad.”
