Gareth Ainsworth

"A win's a win. It's fantastic to have the win and I'm proud of the boys and the way they dug in. We haven't had a win like that, so that's a positive. The negatives that Forest Green came on in the second-half with ten men. We should have been further in front first half. Like Saturday against Mansfield, I thought we could have had a couple more [goals]. The way we have let them back into the game is disappointing but we've held on for the win and an away win has been rare for while, so it's nice to get one at the start of the year."

"The boys are disappointed in the second-half, rather than celebrating the win, which is good and the sign of a good team who want to grow and improve. But we didn't step on. We were too deep and allowed them to come on to us. There's fundamental things in there but it's the second game in three days and legs are tired. Losing a couple of the boys through injury [Bloomfield and Gape] both going off, I think that affected us as well."

"We are 4th and got a win and thank-you to the fans who were great again and got behind us in a big way today and played their part. I'm sure they were relieved as me at the final whistle."
