Team Changes

In: Marcus Bean, Nathan Tyson
Out: Nick Freeman (injured), Craig Mackail-Smith (dropped to bench)

Gareth Ainsworth

"People around the country would have be wanting Wycombe to get beaten tonight, especially the teams at the top but to be honest I think 3-1 would have be fairer for us.

"We conceded a really sloppy goal at the end and the person responsible has been told and we will leave it at that but we win and lose as a team.

"I thought the back four did really well apart from the couple of lapses they scored from. We will always score goals going forward and I thought we could have scored more. A bit more quality into [Nathan Tyson] would have got him in a few times more.

"Bayo [Akinfenwa] was outstanding again. He is a thorn in so many sides but my big thing today was the midfield.

"We set up to stop a Crawley team who were in form and Harry has them playing well and I thought the energy our midfield four set us off tonight.

"It was a joy to see and we worked hard on it and executed it really well and I am pleased with the performance and result and we go again on Saturday.

"You put on your teamsheet Tyson and Akinfenwa and I think any manager is going to have a look at that and know he is in for a physical battle with Bayo and a pace battle with Tyson.

"How you combat that is tough but they do get in behind and with the midfield getting forward they are going to score goals."

On next game [home to Port Vale Saturday 24th March 2018]

"It is going to be a tough game. They are coming into this game on the back of a few defeats but Morecambe came to Adams Park recently and showed us how it was done. There is no way we are going to take this one lightly. Teams are scrapping for their lives at the bottom of the league.

"I know Neil Aspin well and he is a proud man and he will have his team up for this one. I will see how the legs are again for a mammoth game against Vale as the Wednesday games are a bit of a killer. We will hopefully pick the right outfit and the right team and get the job done."
