Gareth Ainsworth

“Some of our players were unrecognisable. Having to make changes didn’t help, but we gave them two leg-ups with the penalties and after that they were much the better side. We were one-dimensional.”

“We seemed to lose the midfield after Matt Bloomfield went off. It left us with one midfielder on the pitch. We can win games with bare bones, but tonight we weren’t good. Fortunately we’ll have a couple of players back on Saturday.”

League Table

The latest loss for Wanderers saw a drop to 13th spot in League One, leaving just a four point buffer to the relegation zone with nine games remaining.
Wycombe travel to 20th placed Shrewsbury on Saturday (16th March 2019). The Shrews go into that game on the back of two straight defeats have previously been on a decent run. Wanderers have now failed to win their previous eight League games - the 1-0 victory over Plymouth at Adams Park on 26th January was the most recent victory for Gareth Ainsworth's side.
