Wanderers announced an 9th close-season at around 5pm on Thursday 1st August 2019 with the news that striker Josh Parker had signed a two-year deal. The 28-year-old is a former schoolboy player for Wanderers but started his professional career in the Youth set-up at Queens Park Rangers. He played one game on loan for Wanderers during the 2010/11 season while at QPR coming on as substitute in the 3-1 home defeat to Torquay United in November 2010 a match where he played alongside Gareth Ainsworth. However, his loan spell was cut-short when he suffered a stress fracture in his left foot while on international duty with Antigua and Barbuda.

He returned to the UK on a permanent basis to spend three seasons with Gillingham. During League One season 2017/18 he scored 12 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions. He also scored against Wanderers in the League meeting at Priestfield in the December 2018 2-2 draw.

In January 2019 he joined Charlton Athletic on transfer deadline day on a six-month contract making 10 appearances before the end of the season but failing to find the net. He played three times for Wanderers during the pre-season games scoring in the home friendly against Brentford on Saturday 20th July 2019.
