The Club announced shortly after 1pm on transfer deadline day (Monday 2nd September 2019), the singing of 23-year-old Newcastle United forward Rolando Aarons on a loan deal until 13th January 2020.

The Jamaican born player moved to the UK aged 5 and joined his home town team, Bristol City as a youngster. He was released by City in 2012 and subsequently joined Newcastle United, signing a professional deal in April 2014.

After impressing pre-season 2014/15 he was allocated the No.16 in the Magpies squad and made his Premier League debut in the opening game of the season coming on as substitute in the 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City. He scored his first senior goal on 30 August 2014 in a 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace playing alongside former Mike Williamson and setting-up a goal for his teammate.

He has since totalled 27 First Team apps for Newcastle, while also taking in loan spells at Hellas Verona (Italy Serie A), Slovan Liberac (Czech Republic top division)) and most recently with Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

Gareth Ainsworth commented: Weve been hit by a couple of injuries up front and it looks like well be without Fred Onyedinma and Paul Smyth for a little while, but Im delighted to be able to bring Rolando to the club and I think its a real coup to attract someone of his calibre to Adams Park.
Weve started the season really well, particularly at home where weve played some fantastic attacking football, and Rolando will complement our style with his pace and ability to run at players and create chances for himself and others.

He was allocated No.26 in the Wanderers squad for 2019/20.
