The Club announced at around 6pm on transfer deadline day (Monday 2nd September 2019), the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh on a season-long loan from Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.

The player started his football career with the U18 and U21 teams at Tottenham Hotspur and Millwall before signing a pro deal with Bournemouth in 2017 at the age of 17. He impressed enough during his first season for The Cherries U21 side to be offered a deal until 2021. In March 2018 he was also called up by the Nigerian U20s side this despite reports linking him to possible selection for the England U19 side. Although born in England, he qualifies for Nigeria through his father.

He signs for Wanderers having yet to make his senior debut in English football.

Gareth Ainsworth commented: Nnamdi is a player Ive admired for a long time and I know hes very highly-rated at Bournemouth, so Im delighted to be able to bring him here. Hes done extremely well for them throughout pre-season and comes to us sharp and ready to play.

Hes a very strong and powerful midfielder who suits our style, and can also cover in the centre of defence which could be valuable for us. Im excited to see what he can bring to the team and would like to thank Eddie Howe at Bournemouth for allowing him to continue his development here.

He was allocated No.28 in the Wanderers squad for 2019/20.

Following this signing, Ainsworth confirmed this was the last signing of the summer, saying: Thats it now for our recruitment over the summer, and Im really pleased with the quality of players that weve been able to bring in. Its taken a lot of hard work from a lot of people, including my scouts, our club secretary Kelly Francis, the medical staff and BMI Healthcare with the medicals, my assistant Richard Dobson and the rest of the training ground staff, the chairman, and also Rob and Pete Couhig and Mark Palmer whove supported me every step of the way and enabled us to strengthen the squad.
