Anonymous,

I am sorry my sense of humour is regarded as condescending, but I admit computers don't have eyebrows, so it happens.
To address your responses, civilly, of course, I have to ask as I do almost everyone, why it is so hard to understand Ike's position? Ike has been in town getting supplies, taking care of business, visiting people he knows all day. Come night he decides to get a lunch, as he says, and goes to a saloon for it. All the saloons serve lunches, so its not unreasonable that a rancher would feel more comfortable eating lunch in a saloon rather than a restaurant.
Holliday's appearance and tirade come next. I won't describe it all. There is no evidence that Ike is drunk or armed. But it seems to be ok that doc is both. When Ike leaves he is told by Morgan that the next time he sees him on the street he had better be armed. Is that not a threat? No one seems to think so except Ike. I would think so, but that's me.
The question is; how does one respond to that? Get on your horse and ride to another county, because you'd never hold your head up where you are again? I think you probably go get armed. One has to assume Ike believes Morgan.
So Ike goes looking for Doc and Morgan in the morning with his weapons, prepared to make a fight if that's what they want. So he says he is looking for them and ready. Threats? I guess you might call it that, I call it retaliation, but you said he should not make threats if you are not ready to act upon them. He appeared ready to act upon his words, wouldn't you say?
To answer #2, he showed up with the weapons.

Loudmouth. That's interesting, because not one witness described Ike as loud, belligerent, argumentative, ect. Just stating his business. The court clerk said he talked to Wyatt and Morgan in a normal tone of voice; it was the two Earps that were quarrelsome. That's #3.

If we are still talking about the shootout, I submit that Ike was not armed because Frank and Billy did not want him to be armed. It seems obvious that once Frank realized there was a bad atmosphere he tried to keep the lid on, finish his business, and get out of town without further trouble. Support for this view point is that Frank did not argue with Wyatt when Wyatt moved his horse even though Frank knew Wyatt had beat Tom for no known reason. Ike said it was by 'mutual consent' that Billy and Frank had him order up his wagon so they could leave town pretty soon. This suggests a cohesive effort to avoid trouble.

Ike was unarmed, as was Tom, at the vacant lot for good reason. The brothers talked them out of it. So there he is. You still did not answer my question as to what you would do in the same situation. You are unarmed, bullets are flying, what do you do? You, anonymous, cannot run because you think it is cowardly. So what are you going to do?

I will answer your last three comments about the ambush stuff when I get home from work. Right now I am anxious to see how you survive!
