Hello there, Bob!

So nice to connect up with you once again.
However, I think we are talking about interpretation here, don't you think?

"Afterward" certainly has the connotation of 'not long after' or even pretty soon after.'Clum did not clarify by saying 'years later' or 'sometime later on.'
If anyone used the term 'afterward' as he did, I would understand it to mean not long after, within hours or at most, a day or two. That's kinda' the way our vocabulary works. 'Afterward' usually means pretty soon after the event being discussed.

If you could get away with stretching it all those years, it still would show that despite this knowledge, it did not affect Clum's opinion of Mr. Earp and his bunch. Still not a character recommendation.

I don't smoke, though I used to roll my own Bull Durham, but I think I have that cigar coming.

As for a visit to Tombstone, I would be so delighted to entertain you and your grandsons when you arrive. What a delightful prospect.

Always my best,
Joyce

Hi Bob, Not for a moment would I attempt to disillusion the boys with contradictory accounts. You and I can argue each other till dawn but the boys' understanding of their grandpa's wonderful stories ... more
