Re: I found an article by a ringside reporter

I read that article along with other period summations. Fitz making statements after the fight are questionable at best. Fitz never backed off his aggressive style and in my view was becoming increasingly frustrated as the bout entered the later rounds. Sharkey was a tough opponent and able to take a punch. There is not enough convincing evidence to indicate a fix unless Fitz was part of it also. Wyatt let the fight go too many rounds to have been part of a fix. If Fitz was fighting another opponent the fight could have ended much earlier. Wyatt would have made a lot of enemies if he was paid to fix the fight and Sharkey had been knocked out or otherwise incapacitated. I am sorry but no professorial, educated historian would consider this evidence as convincing to indicate wrong doing on the part of Wyatt. The standard for convincing evidence is much higher among professional, formally educated historians compared to amateur historians. How do I know? I was very humbled when I started my master's degree in history. I used to make assumptions based on questionable evidence.
