It matters not if you've known a "friend" for a century and a quarter. My character flaw has been nurtured for decades and it normally kicks in when I smell a rat. And when I smell at rat I am never wrong. NEVER.

Over the years on the various discussion boards I have had to "man up" several times by typing into the box "I stand corrected" and then hit the send button. I've even had to do it with you. But this is not one of those occasions.

Your quarter-century 'friend' doesn't have the balls to "man up" and admit to disregarding truth - but rather disseminating untruth - for the simple fact that he committed to having his photo taken in a completely wrong locations representing a sand wash where the hold-up took place. DEAD WRONG. Not true. (As a neophyte I stood in the exact same Boyer location on March 15, 2001)

Where were you, Morey - oh righteous defender of truth - when your 'friend' rejected out of hand nine (9) pieces of contemporary primary source evidence placing the holdup after the horses were changed at Drew's Station? These were collected and presented by myself and Madison Homicide Detective (retired) Bruce Frey on this very board. Where were you Morey, when your 'friend' rejected overwhelming TRUTH evidence, in leu of one misrepresented source confusing the location as being above (up river) from Drew's? Included in the nine (9) were two (2) containing the statements of Wyatt and Bob Paul, flying in the face of your sorely mistaken 'fiend.'

The actual location - said to be 300 yards below (down river from) Drew's - was not a sand wash at all, in the common sense, but rather a hard=packed anomaly of a wash, very deep, which during rainstorms would dump practically straight into the San Pedro River close by. Besides the nine, here are four contemporary definitions describing a sometimes treacherous spot on the river road:

1. The "arroyo" - "The regular stage from Benson….was delayed near Drew's yesterday, by the breaking of a purchase while crossing an arroyo. The crossing is a bad one and it has been suggested that return teamsters leave straw, hay or some such material there, and make an effort to improve it." [Epitaph - Sept. 11, 1880]

2. "a deep ravine" - Wyatt Earp, after stating that the horses were changed at Drew's "as usual."

3. "The wash" - "This occurred at what is known as the "wash," just below Drew's Station...." [Epitaph - March 16, 1881]

4. "The wash" - "While in the bed of the "wash" Mr. Paul had recognized one of the men as the notorious Bill Leonard."[Arizona Republican - June 26, 1892]

There was no sand to speak of contained in this particular arroyo, being washed out and into the river during rainstorms. I found two instances when the coach tipped over here, during torrential rain. The time on August 11, 1881, there were three men sitting in the box on the up coach, one messenger (Warren Earp) and two drivers all heading back to Tombstone. One passenger inside suffered a broken arm. Nothing like this could happen in the John Rose/Boyer fabricated location, where your 'friend' had the untruthful photo taken, which had to be committed to rather than man up for the silly mistake.

As expected from any typical, garden variety, condescending, S.O.B., your 'friend' hasn't the balls to man up to one, mistake, among several other mistakes. For instance him trying to place about 3/4 of a ton of silver bullion bars crammed into the "treasure box" under the front driver's seat. Whereas descent research would reveal how messenger Morgan Earp routinely had to place multiple bullion bars into the rear boot. No doubt it helped balance the coach.

Stop being ridiculous, Morey.
