I was excited when I first purchased and read this book a few years back.

The section on kiddie shows in San Francisco, circa the 1950s, was almost all incorrect. The author had a few names right but he screwed up big time on dates and facts. I wrote and called him on it and he wrote back admitted he got a lot of the information second hand and didn't have time to double-check a lot of facts.

He was nice and apologetic about it but what is the sense of having a reference book you cannot depend upon?

He did the Connecticut part accurately. I had Happy the Clown (Joey Russell) sign the CT page. :)
