I know my bank's app for a long time was just a web browser shortcut wrapped as an app. (Refused to install it). I would imagine many others would do more or less the same as a cheap way to get an app in the app store.

Maybe I should give Firefox another go. It's been almost 10 years since I've moved to Chrome but honestly, I'm not sure how much I trust Google with much of anything. Unrelated to Google but I have a host entry set to circle back to localhost for all facebook domains because I don't trust them as well already. (And haven't for many years)

To check facebook, I have to run notepad as administrator and comment out the entry before checking anything. I've done this for years now. Zuck called us all assholes for giving him information so I try not to. Heck, I wouldn't even have a Facebook if people didn't expect me too. (I also hear you're potentially considered "suspect" by the NSA if you don't have a Facebook account... no idea if it's true)
