Or will you ever have multiple items equipped?

If not, selecting the item with enter and having the menu close is not only good enough, but on the games that I've played that have done that, effective.

If you added an exit menu item, then you wouldn't have to exit out with some unknown key and you could have multiple items equipped. (One yarn ball needs to drop benny's 2x4 of goodness and graciousness like 1 in 10 startups, which makes a yarn ball attack the others on the screen. Ok, maybe not.)

For real time, I'd probably choose 1 and 2 for scrolling through the inventory, they're usually quite easy to hit on most keyboards, even junky laptop keyboards. They also have the advantage of usually being away from the arrow keys (who knows with a laptop keyboard) so you can still navigate while you're swapping items.

        Yes, eventually you will be able to equip/use multiple items so unless I were to bind other keys for health and such (I did that with the C++ version, and I'm not crazy about it) I don't think the... more
