You don't need to worry about the server side code or building the DB, just the client.

Right now it looks like I don't have the built client executable checked into Git. I'll update that so you don't have to worry about getting that built locally either. (Unless you want to)

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I can just upload a zip to the website with the needed stuff so you don't have to worry about the code side at all.

In windows usually you can just double click the jar file and it will kick off. Right now all messages are sent to the console so it would be better to debug running from the command line. (There's a lot of "TO-DOs... the code is a mess. :))

To run: java -jar NeChat.jar

I still have to update the client so it grabs the latest server IP from NE and get my server machine facing the internet.

I think your version of java will work. I'm building on javac 1.8.0_92.

    Though I haven't used Java in a long time. I have javac 1.8.0_144 on my command line. What would I need to get started? I checked out the repo .
