Need some help. Have a 78 FJ40 that I converted the Hard top to a 75 rear flip up Hatch with split lower doors and got rid of ambulance doors. I recently restored the hatch and cant get the locking mechanism on the key lock to work. there is a small metal intricate spring that we had to fabricate that allows it to lock. If anyone has a working/Locking rear hatch I need your help. If you could be so kind as to unscrew the inside panel and take an up close photo of this spring and email or send to my I-phone I would be in your debt. cell is 918-261-9571.
