Clipping goldendoodles (or groodles)

We have two of Kate's dogs, a labradoodle and a very hairy goldendoodle. We would like to start clipping them ourselves, having done a dog grooming course about 8 years ago! I am not sure what size blades to buy - can anyone help? Our goldendoodle has had some hot spots, so currently his coat needs to very short (but maybe not shaved). When it is cooler, it can be longer. Should I buy the wider sorts of blades such as a T-84 or is the normal width blade OK? What do other people use?

Would the blades also be suitable for our labradoodle?

They are both great dogs and they get on very well together.
