Today I was Reading one of The Gabby Conch's E Mails , I think it was sent in by Theresa Signorelli. She talked about some things We call by one name turned out to be different other places. This brought back some pleasant memories of my Mother and my childhood days and why I couldn't get one at a Restaurant. . One of my favorite dishes for my Mother to make for me was an Omelet. I love Omelets for any meals, any time, But I never knew it as an Omelet. It was a Tortilla as she called it and that's what all our friends we knew called it. After moving to VA in later years many times I would try to order it and always the same answer, We don't have them. Not ever having been to a Mexican Restaurant to eat I went into one and Lo and Bijol, (Lol Couldn't resist that.) There they were on the menu. Hey! that's not what I call a Tortilla. That's what I would call Mexican Pan. That round flat flour looking thing. All these years I thought I had somehow gotten confused and about them being Tortilla's I'm very happy to know some other Conch also knows an Omelet by the name Tortilla. Thanks Theresa. Charlie
