You overused it

Unlike pre surgery, any increase in activity will cause pain. You need to very gradually work your way up, and to pay close attention to signs of discomfort because you have gone over the line. Optimally, you want to go over the line to push yourself but enough such that by the next day all is good.

Now that you know what happens, don't push so much. Either the light run or the softball would have pushed it slightly, but you're now paying for doing both.
