Maybe you should watch the press conference before you comment about what they were speaking of.
Nothing you wrote even comes close to the topic of discussion, which was widespread subsurface water.

But if you had watched the press conference you would have found out right at the start that the present day surface of Mars IS habitable. Everything Jim and I have been saying here for oh so many years was correct. How bout them apples? Mmm sour apples.
