Hello. Emmanuel Whitman was my mothers great great grandpa. This research is all new to me, i dont know even how long ago you posted this, lol! However, if you have any information about him I would appreciate recieving some. Our branch of the family, as far as I know, believed he was from North carolina? We did not have a birth date nor death date as far as I can tell. In our information it states his wife was Jane Duke. In our information, it also states he was a cherokee indian who managed to pass for a white man and escaped reservation life. If you have any other information, please contact me!
