To answer your question, my first board was OBB... My first post was entitled "scary lady" and it had to do with that British nanny who did something awful to a child... Don't remember the details, jsut the shock, like DeeDee mentioned, of getting answers...

I got there because I was reading stuff about Princess Diana's death and wandered off the MSNBC news to their opinion forum and discovered all these people having serious conversations that were fascinating, to a bored individual perusing the newly minted internet (for me anyway)

Why I read the JUDI post instead of making my own comment? I dunno... Took me awhile to work up the courage to join in as the conversations were VERY serious there...

My first "friend" on the OBB was Smartin... I guess we learned the ropes there together and had some fun posting together... until we didn't...

Chris from England who was bemoaning his lonely nights working in NYC (I think) so came by to visit us and then abruptly left one day... and the chubby fella and his red headed wife from DC... with the POD BOY... the couple who were heavily into trading... ROFLMAO... oh the crazy stories we would tell one another!! LOL... and Jimmy Cook aka cookie, my "sweet lunk of a goofball motorsports fan" who I just had to "love" for his cornball humor and his bashful persona when he was 6'6" at least compared to my 5'3" shortness... but, I think he's gone too... Not a single word from him since wishing him happy birthday in June 2006 ---when we'd talk almost weekly and there was no falling out or explanation other than his one remark about needing to see a doc... and no sign of either he nor his former wife's name in the phone listings anymore... )-; and, OH YEAH, SAM... who gave me my current name & was super duper pals with cookie too!! How could I forget him til just now? and some goof from the southwest who used to consider housework his "hobby"... LOL... and so many more that will come to me after I finish up...

Because I left the board in 1999 and didn't return until a few months before it totally shut down and then again for a few years, there's huge gaps in the groups of folks I remember... and also I didn't know ANY of the folks from any other boards besides OBB so never knew anyone here other than those, like you, that I invited here... Then, like now, I tend to stick with only one board at a time just because... but it was fun... I enjoyed it... until I didn't...

but anyway, I am VERY PLEASED to see you emerging again after your move... and disappearance... Keep in touch... and don't listen to folks who tell you stuff that doesn't match what YOU know to be so... k? 'nuff said about that...
